Tylertown has three annual events to attract newcomers and town regulars alike: the Walthall County Dairy Festival, the Chef Poule Festival, and Christmas in the Park. All three involve vast community effort and support. All three events are held at Holmes Water Park. The Dairy Festival is held on the first Saturday of June every year to support Walthall County's dairy industry. Many things take place at the Dairy Festival from performances by local talent to the numerous fun contests to participate in and making purchases from the fine food and craft venders.
The Chef Poule Festival is normally held on the last Saturday of September to support Walthall County's poultry industry. At the Chef Poule Festival the main event is the chicken cook-off. The Christmas in the Park event starts Thanksgiving and ends on New Years Eve. Truely a show of lights, Christmas in the Park literally has thousands upon thousands of lights. Light displays are donated by corporate sponsors or in honor of or in memory of by individuals.
Tylertown is also home to Lake Walthall, located just south of town. Lake Walthall offers the opportunity to go fishing, swimming, boating, and skiing on the lake. It is also been used for numerous camp-outs for the local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts groups. Tylertown has both a country club and community club. Tylertown's Country club has a nine-hole golf course, swimming pool, and tennis courts. Tylertown's Community Club offers a swimming pool, tennis courts, and bridge clubs.
